Welcome to our daycare! We understand that leaving your child in someone else’s care is a big step, and we’re here to provide you with all the information you need to feel comfortable and confident about your decision. Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) that parents often have about our daycare services:
1. What are your operating hours?
Our daycare operates for 7 days a week - (6:30-6:00 Mon-Fri) and (8:00-5:00 Sat & Sun).
2. What age group of children do you cater to?
We provide care for children from Birth to 12 years.
3. How do I enroll my child?
You can start the enrollment process by visiting our center. Please contact our office for enrollment forms and availability.
4. What is your staff-to-child ratio?
Our staff-to-child ratio is as per Alberta Early Childhood requirement. which ensures that each child receives personalized attention and care.
5. What qualifications do your staff members have?
Our staff members are experienced and trained in early childhood education. They are certified in First Aid, Food Safety, and Early Childhood Educator Levels 1,2 and 3. They undergo regular training to stay up-to-date with best practices.
6. What is your curriculum like?
The Seed Daycare & OSC promotes Project based learning on Physical, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, Intellectual and Environmental aspects of wellness program. It can take an extended period of time, days, weeks and sometimes years to prolong our interest, observation, research and analysis. We are not in rush and we learn at our own pace.
7. Do you provide meals and snacks?
We offer Breakfast, Morning Snack, Lunch and Afternoon Tea, ensuring that your child receives nutritious and balanced meals during their time at the daycare.
8. How do you handle allergies and special dietary needs?
We take allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. Please inform us about your child’s allergies or dietary needs during the enrollment process, and we will accommodate them accordingly.
9. What should I pack for my child each day?
Please provide spare clothes, bottles, formula, comfort items, and any necessary medications.
10. How do you communicate with parents about their child’s day?
We use Parent Apps and Emails for daily communication, such as daily reports, emails, and regular parent-teacher conferences, to keep you updated about your child’s activities, milestones, and progress.
11. What are your health and safety protocols?
We maintain strict health and safety standards outlined by Alberta Health Services. Sick children are not allowed to attend the daycare to prevent the spread of illnesses.
12. How do you handle emergencies?
Our staff members are trained in CPR and first aid. In case of emergencies, we follow our established procedures and will contact you immediately.
13. Can I visit my child during the day?
Yes, parents are welcome to visit their children during daycare hours. Just inform the staff in advance so that we can arrange a suitable time.
14. How do you handle potty training?
We work closely with parents to facilitate potty training when the child is developmentally ready. We follow your preferred approach and provide consistent reinforcement.
15. What is your discipline policy?
We promote positive behavior through gentle guidance, redirection, and age-appropriate consequences. Our focus is on teaching children how to express themselves and resolve conflicts.
